Regulation
Besides supervision, regulation is another core activity of FIN-FSA. This includes both the issuance of regulations and guidelines and participation in preparations for financial market legislation both at home and within the EU. The regulatory activity also includes other guidance, such as issuance of statements, and opinions.
In our regulatory work, the emphasis is on a proactive approach to regulation, as well as on regulatory transparency and consistency. We devote particular attention to the clarity of our regulations and guidelines and to ensuring that our policies are in line with the EU and other international regulatory frameworks. Accordingly, our own regulation is closely integrated with international supervisory and regulatory principles.
The set of regulations, which is a compilation of FIN-FSA’s legally binding regulations and recommendatory guidelines, serves as a tool for our regulation as well as a guide for our supervision activities.
